Join Counsel for Justice’s Domestic Violence Project for a free virtual training presented by Peace Over Violence.

Training Description

Attorneys working with survivors of domestic violence often encounter clients whose experiences of trauma may affect memory, communication, decision-making, and presentation. This one-hour training will provide practical, trauma-informed strategies for interviewing and working effectively with survivor-clients, supporting survivor autonomy, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

MCLE Credit

Eligible for 1 hour of California General CLE credit.

Yvette Lozano, Chief Program & Operations Officer, Peace Over Violence

Yvette Lozano has been with Peace Over Violence for more than 23 years. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator on intimate partner violence, sexual violence, family violence, trauma-informed responses, and empowerment. She has provided training and technical assistance to law enforcement, colleges and universities, domestic violence shelters, social service agencies, and other service providers throughout Los Angeles County. She continues to work directly with survivors and is a P.O.S.T.-certified instructor.

Established in 1971, Peace Over Violence is a Los Angeles-based sexual and domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, and youth violence prevention center dedicated to building healthy relationships, families, and communities free from sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence.
