Schedule: Monday–Friday during courthouse hours

Counsel for Justice (CFJ) promotes access to justice for people in underserved communities seeking to assert their legal rights. By engaging volunteer attorneys to provide direct legal services, CFJ empowers individuals with the knowledge and support they need to navigate legal challenges effectively.
Our Domestic Violence Project provides free legal assistance to survivors seeking protection and stability for themselves and their families.
About the Position
The Project Receptionist is often the first point of contact for clients, volunteers, and visitors at CFJ’s Domestic Violence Project. This role keeps the clinic running smoothly while helping ensure that every person is welcomed with dignity, patience, and care.
The successful candidate will balance front-desk service, client intake, bilingual communication, volunteer coordination, data entry, and day-to-day administrative support in a busy courthouse clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the front desk, client intake, waiting queues, and clinic flow in a welcoming and trauma-informed manner.
Communicate clearly and sensitively with clients who may be experiencing crisis or trauma.
Provide English/Spanish translation assistance to clients, volunteers, and staff.
Offer basic technology support for day-to-day clinic operations.
Maintain the volunteer calendar and support volunteer check-in and check-out.
Enter and update client and service information in LegalServer with accuracy and consistency.
Assist with program reporting, file organization, supplies, and other administrative needs.
Qualifications
Required
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Strong organizational, customer-service, and multitasking skills.
Ability to communicate with sensitivity, professionalism, and calm in a crisis-focused environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
Preferred
Prior reception, administrative, or customer-service experience.
Experience in a legal, nonprofit, courthouse, or social-services setting.
